Two tornadoes hit Cordova on April 27, 2011. The downtown historic district was badly damaged, and demolition of what was left began in April 2013. River ground and hill ground
Cordova sits in the rolling foothills beside the Mulberry Fork, so one property can have both kinds of trouble. The low ground near the river stays soft, and timing matters there. Our machines run on tracks and spread their weight, which lets them work wet ground without cutting it to pieces. The slopes above wash once they are bare, so those get mulched and left covered. If any of the work is in or beside a stream or wet area, ask the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers what applies before anybody starts.
