Tree Removal in Fayette, AL
We are based in this county. Dead pines over the pasture, trees crowding the house and whatever the last storm laid down around Fayette come out with an excavator and loaders, stumps included.

Trees and stumps taken out close to home
Storms find Fayette County like anywhere else in west Alabama. After one, a chainsaw handles the limb across the yard. It does not handle a full-size oak laid over the fence, a pine top hung forty feet up in the next tree, or a row of dead trees along the pasture that all have to go before one of them lands on a cow. Those take a machine, and somebody who runs it for a living.
We remove trees from the ground with an excavator and loaders. The excavator brings the tree down under control and lifts it out, in one piece where it can. The loaders stack or carry the wood and clean up the limbs. Then we pull the stump and root ball, fill and pack the hole and pull the ground back level, so it is not a trip hazard or a place water stands.
Fayette is our home county, and a tree job in or around the town of Fayette is about the shortest haul we make. If you have more than a handful of trees in one spot, ask us to price it as land clearing too and compare, because per tree that is usually less. Details are on the main tree removal page, and the Fayette land clearing page lists our other work around town.

Tree work in and around Fayette
Storms on the record
April 27, 2011 put tornadoes in this county. The National Weather Service lists an EF-1 at Berry, our home town, an EF-3 at Hubbertville, and the long-track EF-4 Cordova tornado, which also crossed part of Fayette County. Smaller storms do the same damage a few trees at a time. Our storm damage tree cleanup page covers downed and hung-up trees.
Pasture, timber and creek bottoms
The 2020 census counted every resident of Fayette County as rural, and the tree work matches. It is dead pines standing over pasture, tree lines grown into fences, and old home places where the yard trees have outlived the house. The hills drop into creek bottoms and the Sipsey River bottom, where the ground stays soft. Tracked machines carry low ground pressure, so they can work that ground and cross a yard without cutting ruts into it.
In town: lines underground and burn rules
Inside the city, Fayette runs its own Gas Board and Water Board, so there are city mains and service lines under yards. Pulling a stump is digging, and an Alabama 811 locate request comes before any digging. A locate does not mark private lines such as a water line you ran yourself, so tell us about those. For the wood, the Alabama Forestry Commission issues burn permits, and inside the city limits you should ask City Hall first. Our burn permit guide explains the state rules.

Who does tree removal in Fayette, AL?
Down South Land Solutions is based in Berry, in Fayette County, and takes tree removal across the county. The work is done from the ground with an excavator and loaders: whole trees, tree lines, storm-downed trees and stumps. Call or text (205) 535-6376 with the address and a few photos for a free estimate.
Can you take down a dead pine near my house in Fayette County?
If the excavator can reach it and there is room to bring it down away from the house, yes. Dead pines get brittle, so sooner is easier than later. Send photos of the tree and what stands around it. Unsure whether a machine can get to it? Ask us. That is a quick answer once we see it.
Do I need a burn permit to burn tree debris in Fayette County?
Check with the Alabama Forestry Commission before you light it. The Commission issues burn permits by phone and says the person burning must be able to control the fire and stay with it until it is out. Burn bans and dry-weather alerts change the answer, and inside the Fayette city limits you should ask City Hall as well.
Is it cheaper to remove a few trees or clear the whole area in Fayette?
Per tree, clearing is almost always less, because the machines are already there and set up. If you have more than a handful of trees in one area, ask for both prices and compare. If you want most of the trees kept, removing only the ones you point out is the better job.
